This 4-day trekking journey takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Orika Valley and Siti Fatma in the High Atlas Mountains. Starting with a scenic drive from Marrakech to Imlil, you’ll embark on an unforgettable adventure, exploring lush valleys, picturesque Berber villages, and the famous waterfalls of Siti Fatma. The trek continues with challenging passes and breathtaking views before descending back to Imlil and returning to Marrakech. A perfect blend of nature, culture, and adventure for those seeking a unique experience in Morocco's mountains.

Day 1: Early Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (Starting Point) & Trek to Siti Fatma

  • Departure from Marrakech: Depart early in the morning from Marrakech for your transfer to Imlil. The drive will take approximately 1.5-2 hours (about 60 km) and offers scenic views of the High Atlas Mountains along the way.

  • Arrival in Imlil: Arrive at Imlil, a small village located in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. Here, you will meet your local guide and start preparing for your trek.

  • Trek to Siti Fatma: Begin your trek from Imlil, heading towards the beautiful village of Siti Fatma, which is located in the Ouirgane Valley. The trek is around 5-6 hours, depending on your pace, and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks, valleys, and Berber villages.

  • Arrival in Siti Fatma: After a day of trekking, you’ll reach the village of Siti Fatma. It is known for its picturesque setting and tranquil atmosphere. Here, you can relax and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and overnight stay at a local guesthouse or gîte.

Day 2: Trekking Around Siti Fatma and Exploring Waterfalls

  • Morning: After breakfast, start your day with a local guide who will take you on a trek to explore the famous waterfalls of Siti Fatma. There are several waterfalls in the area, with the most well-known being the "Seven Waterfalls."

  • Exploring the Waterfalls: The hike to the waterfalls takes around 3-4 hours, depending on how many waterfalls you decide to visit. The trek includes some rock scrambles and river crossings, so be prepared for a little adventure. The area is lush, with green terraces and impressive rock formations surrounding the waterfalls.

  • Afternoon: After exploring the waterfalls, enjoy a picnic lunch with stunning views. You can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing or wandering around the village, experiencing local life, and interacting with Berber families.

  • Evening: Return to your guesthouse or gîte for a traditional Moroccan dinner. You’ll stay overnight in Siti Fatma.

Day 3: Trekking from Siti Fatma to the Tizi n’Mzik Pass & Azzaden Valley

  • Morning: After breakfast, begin your trek towards the Tizi n’Mzik Pass, which sits at 2,500 meters. This part of the trek is a bit more challenging, but it rewards you with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks of the High Atlas Mountains.

  • Trek to the Pass: The hike to the Tizi n’Mzik Pass takes approximately 4-5 hours. Along the way, you’ll pass through charming Berber villages, terraced fields, and the iconic Atlas landscapes.

  • Arrival at the Tizi n’Mzik Pass: Once at the pass, you’ll have a well-deserved rest and enjoy spectacular views. On a clear day, you can see the Atlas mountain range stretching out before you.

  • Descend to Azzaden Valley: After the pass, descend towards the Azzaden Valley, where you’ll find more remote Berber villages. The descent takes about 2-3 hours, and the valley is a wonderful place to stop for a break, as the views are simply breathtaking.

  • Overnight: Arrive in the Azzaden Valley and stay at a local gîte for the night. Enjoy another traditional dinner and relax after a challenging but rewarding day of trekking.

Day 4: Trek from Azzaden Valley to Imlil & Return to Marrakech

  • Morning: After breakfast, begin your final trek back towards Imlil. The hike takes about 4-5 hours and passes through beautiful valleys, small Berber villages, and terraced fields. As you walk, you will gradually descend back into the Imlil valley, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountain range.

  • Arrival in Imlil: Once you reach Imlil, you will meet your driver for your return journey back to Marrakech. The drive back will take about 1.5-2 hours.

  • Return to Marrakech: Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, marking the end of your 4-day trekking adventure in the Atlas Mountains.
